Book Description:
God of Nothing: In
this fascinating autobiographical interview, one of the most prominent and
outspoken Catholic Cardinals gives witness to his Christian faith and comments
on many current controversial issues. The mission of the Church, the joy of the
gospel, the “heresy of activism”, and the definition of marriage are among the
topics he discusses with wisdom and eloquence.
The Power of Silence: In a time when there is more and more
noise, and technology and materialism continue to exert their hold on us,
Cardinal Robert Sarah presents a bold book about the strength of silence. The
world generates so much noise that seeking moments of silence only becomes more
necessary. For Cardinal Sarah, modern man, in repressing the divine, finds
himself in a deep dilemma, an oppressive and anguishing trial. The Cardinal
recalls that life is a silent relationship between what is most intimate in man
and God. Silence is indispensable for hearing the music of God: prayer arises
from silence and returns to silence with ever greater depth.
My Review and Thoughts:
God or Nothing and the Power of Silence by Robert Cardinal
Sarah are both two of the best books I have ever had the pleasure of reading on
faith, God and our Lord Jesus Christ, both are truly amazing reads that linger
inside the heart, mind and most of all your spiritual life long after you
finish both of them.
I found myself highlighting countless passages in both
books. He truly is a gifted soul. His heart and passion for Christ bleeds on
the pages and bleeds off the pages into the readers mind and his words of God,
Christ and spirituality is a true blessing to the reader.
God or Nothing is a book that inspires beyond measure.
The Power of Silence is to me a book that should be required
reading for any Christian or
anyone wanting to find the Christian life.
The Power of Silence to me is masterpiece that transcends
off the page and becomes a living, breathing reality. Both books are stepping
stones of faith and of seeking the reality of a Christian life and beliefs. If
you want a truly moving experience seek these books out.
Amazingly written and inspired and Highly recommended.
Would I Return to: I already have? I have copied and
highlighted countless passages and reread their wonderful knowledge and beauty.
Robert Cardinal Sarah is by far one of the greatest living minds to ever preach
and express the love of God.
Would I Recommend: Absolutely with out any taking a second
to think about it. Both books are touching stones to faith and the love of
Jesus Christ. Seek these books out and experience something beyond words in definition.
The Power of Silence is possibly one of the best spiritual books ever written.
