River of Redemption
Author: Ann H. Gabhart
My Review and Thoughts:
First off if you havent read any of Gabhart's books, then what are you waiting for. She is an amazing author. A turly dramatic and emotional mastery run through her books of life and feelings. There is a heart, mind and soul in her writing. I have loved her stories for many years now. She is able to grab you, touch your heart and most all give you a sense of love, care, passion and a tear inducing reality at times.
If you love brilliant stories. If you love personal heart inducing realities. If you want thought provoking characters and situations then look no further than Ann H. Gabhart. She sends me on a whirl wind of emotion with her writing. She is able to express a beating heart on page. Her storytelling is something you don't forget. Her stories remain deep inside you long after the last page vanishes from your hands. You feel drained, complete and amazed.
River of Redemption is a sweet, beautiful, innocent and magical book of emotion and the brilliance of human soul. The characters are brilliant. Each one becomes your friend, your family. Louis is one of the great characters in written form. His life, beliefs and process as a slave is brilliantly written. He is someone that makes you remember him. Gabhart gave a heart and soul to Louis and Aunt Tilda. Both of these characters are solid beauties.
This is a story about a 7 year old girl. Adria Starr. You start out with her father, mother and baby brother all dying to the Cloria epidemic. The town is dying out. Adria gets sick but is nursed back to health by Louis and Aunt Tilda, both slaves to the white man. Both these slaves take it upon themselves to take care of the town. Louis burrying the dead and Aunt Tilda nursing the sick. The book progresses and the book unfolds with the life and grownth of young Adria. A moving book of emotion and drama. A wonderful mix of life and growth in a young girl with dreams and desires. Gabhart gives you a total clarity of life and truth in creating these characters on page.
Would I Recommend: Absolutly. This is an amazing book of written characters and situations. A solid book of life, love, and a peace in understaining.
Would I Return to Again: Absolutly. I feel this is one of those books that somewhere down the lane, I will return to and become apart of these amazing characters again.
My Rating: 4.5 out 5
Four Final Words: Sweet. Brillinatly fleshed Out.
